Title: 1881 census
Elizabeth Daley, who lived in Hills Lane in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, went to Leeds to go into service.(I don't know why she would have travelled so far for work) When she was there she met and married Samuel Duxbury. Their daughter Sarah Ann Duxbury came to Shrewsbury to stay with her grandmother Eliza Daley, mother of Elizabeth Daley. She met and married William Lea in Shrewsbury. Their son Samuel William (my grandfather) went to Leeds as a child to stay with his grandmother Elizabeth, but had to return to Shrewsbury when his father died.

My greatgrandfather William Lea, Shrewsbury, married Sarah Ann Duxbury of Beeston, Yorkshire. At that time, I didn't know who her mother was. I thought it was Elizabeth(Eliza)Daley from Shrewsbury. I have finally received Sarah Ann's (Duxberry)birth certificate which shows her mother was Jane Daley,(Shrewsbury) father Samuel Duxberry. (In all the census records I have for Samuel, Duxberry is spelt Duxbury). Sarah Ann was born 15th April 1857 in Roger Row, Beeston. She is living with her grandparents in Shrewsbury in the 1861 and 1871censuses. Samuel and Jane Daley are already in your information details, with children Harriet, Mary Jane, Clara, Thomas and Edith. This certainly makes more sense to me now, as Harriett gave Sarah Ann and William a bible on their wedding, and inscribed it to her beloved sister. (here the name is spelt Duxbery)
