Jenkin and Elizabeth Bulcock nee Duxbury were my great x10 grandparents. They
were married at Gisburn 1631.They had 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl.
Henry,Richard, William and Mary. I am descended from the youngest boy
William, he and his wife Elizabeth Hargreaves moved to Twiston and the
northern slopes of Pendle- They are both buried in the Quaker Burial Ground
at Twiston. We understand that they gave the burial ground to the Quakers.
Jenkin was born in 1591 and was baptised at Newchurch in Pendle,he h
elder brother ,Henry and an elder sister Margaret again both baptised at
Newchurch.
Jenkin and family are buried at Newchurch but I have not located the grave.
This is as far back as I have managed to go with the bulcocks, although I have
evidence of them in the Pendle area into the 1400's, just not got the linkage
evidence yet.I am almost certain Jenkin's father was a Henry- there w
Henry paying the second highest rent to the king in Barley with Whitley Booth
in 1609.
Whitley Booth is where Jenkin lived at a place called Foothouse Yate which is
still there ,I visited last summer. It is between the two Blackmoss Reservoirs
near Barley.
