NORTH STAR STOCK FARM (John Henry and Major T. sons of Thomas and Harriet (Mills) Duxbury)
This farm, which is owned by John H. and Major T. Duxbury, was preempted in 1855 by Thomas Duxbury, father of the present owners. It consists of 292 acres of fertile land, and is located a short distance from the Village of Hutton. With its well improved land and well kept buildings, the place is considered a model farm in every respect, and its stock has received wide recognition. On the farm are bred Clydesdale horses of much quality and substance, large well-wooled Shropshire sheep, Poland China swine that give the most in value for the least expenditure, and in fact, high class of various descriptions. At various times, the North Star Farm exhibits of stock have won many prizes in county fairs held in Fillmore county, and for the past two years, the farm has received recognition at the Minnesota State Fair, winning three red ribbons in 1910 and two red and two blue ribbons in 1911. Miss print--Thomas' wife's name is Hannah. Laurie Ambrose lists birth as1861.

Lived at Canova, Miner Co., SD
John Henry and William Arthur dates are from an account of Geo. Duxbury in McCook Co. --pretty much a biography, probably came from Mildred Sullivan and one of the first family listings we have. I think Mom always said Willie Arthur was the oldest and so does the manuscript--eldest son. (Note from Doris Forkin)
