I have found some information that puts Duxbury's and Waddicor's in the same room at the same time in Ashton - u Lyne. James Duxbury Snr. and his son, also James,were elected to the first committee of the newly erected Sunday School in Hurst in the 1870's. A James (popular name!) Waddicor nominated as Secretary and the Mother's Class was held in the home of Miss Pernal Waddicor. At least I now know that as there was contact at a formal level, it will be well worth following up, though it is a date later than I had anticipated.
